We’re excited to announce that registration for the Spring Club Season is officially open! 

 Key Dates:

• First practice: Tuesday, March 4, 2025
• First game: Saturday, March 15, 2025
• Season concludes: May 10, 2025
• Registration deadline: February 28, 2025 (to meet league minimums)

Practices:

• Tuesdays & Thursdays at McDermott Park, 6:00-8:00 PM
• Potential Wednesday practice at the same location & time

Games:

• Held on Saturdays, with hopes to host as many as possible!

Why Play Spring Rugby as a non high school athlete?

• For U14 Boys transitioning to high school football: Get a taste of the competition you'll face at the next level.
• For younger girls: Experience playing against other girls-only teams rather than coed. Our current HS Girls team is setting the standard for what rugby culture is all about, and this is a fantastic opportunity for younger players to learn from their leadership.

Age Groups for the 2025 Spring Season

Player age is determined as of September 1, 2024. 

• U15 Girls (ages 11-14)
• U18 Girls (ages 14-18)
• U16 Boys (ages 13-15)
• U18 Boys (ages 14-18)

If you have your USA Rugby card already for 2024-2025 Rugby season (Sept 2024-August 2025) skip this step.  Otherwise, register your player with USA Rugby in the link below, be sure to search for Foothills Rebels Rugby

 Next, register your player on Match Facts:

• Select 2025 Spring Club. Once you’ve entered enough information, choose Socal Youth Rugby + age division and  Rebels Rugby + age division as the club.

1. What do I need to buy in order for my child to play? Mouthpiece, Cleats, and Shorts
2. Can my child use his soccer or football cleats? Yes, just make sure they are in good condition and fit properly  
3. I have several children that want to play, will the games be located in different places? Most of the games are all together in the same place. Some games, especially for older athletes, will be in a different location. Rugby is family and family offers rides! 
4. My child knows nothing about rugby, can he compete? Yes, effort makes all the difference in performance 
5. Is rugby safe for my child? Yes, statically safer than football. Rugby players don't wear protective equipment. Thus the rugby player doesn't have the same disregard for the safety of his or her head, neck, and shoulders when tackling or trying to break through a tackle
