 👧 Girls Spring Rugby

Girls rugby continues to grow rapidly, and Spring offers exciting opportunities for development and competition.

  • Girls U15 (GU15)
    • Open to girls 11 years old and up (league age)
    • Format: 7s, with the possibility of playing 10s depending on league alignment

  • Girls U18 (GU18)
    • Open to high-school-aged players
    • Format: 7s, with potential transition to 10s

A move toward 10-a-side rugby would be a major step forward for girls rugby in Southern California and a strong sign of the sport’s continued growth.

👦 Boys Spring Rugby

Spring rugby is open to boys in the following age groups:

  • Boys U16- League age 13 to 15

  • Boys U18- League age 14-18

Spring competition is ideal for continued skill development, game awareness, and preparation for future high school and post-high-school rugby opportunities.

FAQs

  1. What do I need to buy in order for my child to play? Mouthpiece, Cleats, and Shorts
  2. Can my child use his soccer or football cleats? Yes, just make sure they are in good condition and fit properly
  3. I have several children that want to play, will the games be located in different places? Most of the games are all together in the same place. Some games, especially for older athletes, will be in a different location. Rugby is family and family offers rides!
  4. My child knows nothing about rugby, can he compete? Yes, effort makes all the difference in performance
  5. Is rugby safe for my child? Yes, statically safer than football. Rugby players don't wear protective equipment. Thus the rugby player doesn't have the same disregard for the safety of his or her head, neck, and shoulders when tackling or trying to break through a tackle
